What can you do in Búzios? Diving, surfing, windsurfing, golfing, hiking, horseback riding, drinking, shopping, eating, biking, dancing and of course, sunbathing. I'll have the addresses and info for rentals - diving gear, bikes, golf, etc. Dunne-buggies will be available for rent, as well as regular cars. Ask your hotel to make a reservation, during the high season there's a higher demand.
We thought about renting a "saveiro" which is a sailboat, to sail us from one beach to another, we'll see if it'll work out.
In the evenings, we'll all convene at our place for dinner, for those who wish. On the night of the 18th, our big night, we'll have a special dinner planned.
Tatiana's Report - On June 6th, 2005 Tatiana visited Búzios and gave us the following report:
The houses we're renting are about a 15 minutes walk from "the action" so some of you might want to rent a dunne buggie - if you're having dinner with us every night - but it's close enough for walking in case you've had too much to drink (What, at a Slater event?). It will also take you to more distant beaches that won't be as crowded. The city has grown without guidelines, so now it has McDonalds and some high end stores (signs in English, etc.), but it's still very charming - she can't wait to go out at night in January and be part of the action. The water taxis to take you from one beach to another carry cellphones to come get you if you're tired - I love modern technology.
